Because they were never taught that saying sorry isn't enough. Asking for forgiveness is the way. Sorry is simply a word that rolls off everyone's tongue in automatic fashion much like Hi and Goodbye do.

Because when they were little, whenever they did something wrong, they were told to apologize, but they were never told why they should, or that they need to follow up the apology with a change in behavior.
And because it's easier to spit out "sorry" than to really do anything different.

It's a pretty common reaction to an unpleasant situation. It is normal for a person who has been offended against to be less angry when the transgressor admits fault and apologizes.
In summary, it's an easy way out of a temporary situation. Like it or not, that's the truth!

when I say it "I humble myself" to that person ....Ive never said Im sorry and not mean it....How do you know that person is not telling you the truth? Sometimes its just best to accept it and then let it go...to look too deep into it...is not healthy ...If they do it again...and say Im sorry again..then you know ur dealing with an idiot

People say their sorry and they don't mean it because they just want the argument or fight to just end and saying your sorry is the best way to just end it.

Possibly they don't understand how much the issue affected you that caused them to apologize. Sometimes, it's hard to reflect on other person's perspective, so give it time, especially if you're young. In other cases, there can be people who are just too selfish to realize, in which case you just have to distance yourself a bit and let that person regain your trust.

not everyone just says their are sorry they do something for you thats how you know they mean it but those who just say sorry and not mean it are just selfish people or they dont know what else to do for you to show their apology but sometimes sorry just dosent cut it for some situations

maybe it's becasue they want to keep their friends or not get in trouble, so they say "sorry!" even though they don't mean it litterally. sometimes it's just to make the other person feel better.

because the people that says it to you,are jerks and they say it,so you could get it over.plus that is what happened with my ex he said I'm sorry but i knew he didn't mean it cause he didn't look serious or look into my eyes cause that is how you if they mean it!!!
