I was just wondering what you would consider short for a girl, because I'm 5'2.5 and everyone calls me short, but isnt the average height for a girl like 5'4 or somthing?

That is short. The average height for a woman is 5"4-5"6.
By the way, I'm 5"2 as well.

I am 17 and 5'2" also, and I am so short compared to everyone I know. All the girls are at least 5'5" or taller than me and it's so weird having to look up at people when I talk to them. There are 6th graders who are as tall, or taller, than me. But I think that the average height is around 5'4" or so...To me though, the average height is 5'5'....I would love to be at least 5'6-5'7"....One of my ex-best friends is 5'10" and I'm so jealous.

Go ask the Department of Statistics for the average height. If you want to know Asian girls below 1.5m and below of age 20-30 for the year 2005 are considered short to me.

As far as I understood short for a girl is anything 5' and under. I'm 5'4" and I still get called short. The way I see it is if you can see over the bar....you're good.

OK, technically, you may be short but you can PROJECT tall.
I do this all the time. Everyone is so suprised when I tell them that I am only 5'4". They always think I am taller.
But I am always really careful to wear heels, elongating styles and have good posture.
It is all in the attitude!!

I don't know, but I'm 4'11", and I usually get called shorty (affectionately). My height doesn't affect my life adversely. Don't get hung up on being called short because you think your height exceeds the short mark on the measuring tape. Don't you know that good things come in small packages? Stand tall, stand proud! I do!

Yeah, you and I both are short. I am 5'3"1/2 and I never leave out the 1/2. My husband made fun of that but I need all I can get.

People may call you short, but just let them know that in the retail/fashoin industry, 5'4" and under is considered "petite", NOT short! I am 5'4" myself and have always enjoyed being petite.

i think 5'4 is average for a girl but im 5'6 and i still get called short not by weman but men.i dont think its bad to be short and be a girl it would proubly bother me if i was a guy and i was short but i would rather to short then real tall and being a girl.

I don't know Fergie from the black eyed peas is four feet something and she always looks tall and pretty, I'm 5'4 you're not that short if you stop hanging out with tall people.
