what should I search for to locate a supplier of grass sod in my area?

Depends on how much sod you need. Under 100 sq ft, you would be best off with Home Depot or Lowes. If you need to do a large section, try searching "sod supplier". Don't know what area you're in, otherwise I would be able to give better advice. Good luck!
