its the music that is played when the program starts and it has a few of the better players showing off their moves and the back ground go,s from capital city 2 capital city ending up at the Brandenburg gate then it go,s into the studio ? help please my mother is driving me crazy cos everytime it is played she trys 2 guess the composer it may just b a piece of pseudo classical music written for the event !

" Chris Grubb, Producer, BBC Sport, added “The music was written by Carl Davis, a world famous composer and conductor responsible for scores such as ‘The French Lieutenants Woman” and the BBC’s “Pride and Prejudice’. The title is ‘Sports Prepare’ and it is an arrangement from Handel’s ‘See the Conquering Hero Comes’. Handel was a German composer who spent most of his adult life in England and it seemed appropriate that his work should feature in this World Cup. The music was recorded by the BBC Orchestra and Choir.”

It is a popular Hymn Tune and so beautiful As is the German National Anthem which is also a Hymn Tune (Glorious things of thee are spoken) and arent the Germans proud of it so they should be.
