I'm tired of opining on how bad the refs are, just wondering if a soccer expert or 2 could give me a solid explanation on how a goalie, getting kneed from an opposing player, whether intentional or not - is not a penalty.

It wasn't a foul because it was Germany doing it, like all the other fouls that went uncalled in that game. I think I remember seeing him fall on top of the goalie as well, after kneeing him, and the Germans aren't exactly small. It wasn't a penalty because penalties happen on the other side of the field.

I think it can't be a penaltry shot for argentina coz it was in front of their on goal; and if something is obviously not intentionally and can happen in situations like that (everybody jumps and tries to get the ball - and usually it's the goalie that hits/kicks people, unintentionally most of the times) it's not a penalty...I think

GERMANY rules! don't you follow the world cup... =)

The goalkeeper ran into Klose, it was intentional in neither's part. Such fouls happen eveyday , too bad itb was serious for Abbonazzieri

Well....Its a penalty when the goalkeeper knees the attacker. When the attacker knees the goalkeeper in his own penalty box it is a foul. By the way Germany SUCK!!!

because they both jumped up for hte ball. the keeper actually jumped into his knee. klose had no control over it and it wasnt intentional.

even if it was not intentional it was a potentially dangerous action, and he should have been yellow carded. i'm shocked the referee didn't do anything about it. just shows how biased they are.
