Your command and the Iraqi authorities have their own regulations for you to follow, depending on the your specific circumstances. From an immigration perspective, American citizens have the choice of getting engaged, then bringing the fiancee to the US on a K-1 visa, or getting married, and bringing the spouse to the US on a K-3 visa. See the following US Embassy Baghdad website for specific information:
http://iraq.usembassy.gov/iraq/citizen_services.html
Bear in mind that the Iraqi will have to pass medical and security screening, and that your (intended) marriage itself is subject to scrutiny.
From reading your other posts, it seems as though you are feeling lonely, isolated and depressed. It is not unusual to then feel strongly for someone with whom you ordinarily would not have connected. Can you look at the situation with a clear head and truly say that this is what you want to be doing?

Ask the INS ... I'm not sure how it goes if you marry him while you are in Iraq, but if you are an American citizen, and in the U.S., and he comes over on a tourist visa ... you can get married here before his visa expires, and send in the paperwork to the INS. Once the paperwork is in, he can't get deported for overstaying his visa until his status is resolved, that is if the status is resolved negatively. He will have to go through medicals, rigorous background checks, biometrics and all that stuff .... but don't know how it works out if you're both still in Iraq ... :( Good luck!!

Well, since just two months ago you asked a question about needing a real man, and went on to say how you were lonely, I find it hard to believe you're in love. Lust perhaps, but not love.
Has he already conned you into getting the paperwork started for him to come to the states? You should be reported and kicked out of Iraq if you're that stupid.

If you're in the military you're **** outta luck. General Order #1 for the MNCI proscribes relationships with Local Nationals.
You're going to have to figure something else out- either come back when you get out of the military or do it secretly.
If you're already a civilian, than talk to your embassy.

my best guess is that you would have to marry him, may be it will take from 6months to a year but make sure he is in love with you too for some of these men are just looking for oppertunities. I should know it happen alot here in jamaica where people just want to move to the states for a better life.

I don't know exactly but I would talk to your Chaplin. Most Iraqis are just people and many people fall in love during wartime. Always have and always will. I'm sure there is a way. Your Chaplin can point you in the right direction. Good Luck

I can't tell you the time, but please be careful. It wouldn't be the first time a guy (or gal) romanced an American to get into the States. Also talk to some of the Iraqi women. There attitudes towards marriage are very different from ours. Generally, the romance ends with the marriage.

IF you are in the military, go see the chaplain. he is the one who handles alot of the paperwork for this sort of thing. you may also want to take a stop by the American Consulate and start getting the paperwork for immigration purposes. most important of all you need to discuss with your boyfriend your cultural and religious differences. remember most people of the Islamic faith put women in a second class status, even though I have yet to see where in the Koran it says that. you have alot of work ahead of you. Good Luck

Smuggle him to a neutral western country and marry him there (Cyprus would be a nice choice). Then register him in the embassy wherever you are and wait till they grant him residency.
He then has to do whatever every other immigrant does... learn the language and customs, swear allegiance to the flag, watch David Letterman...

You will have to check with the INS. She will need to get a visa from her country and and proper immigration status in the US.
And of course we are in Iraq to free thier people, and fighting with them against a minority group of terrorist.
Good luck it is not going to be easy
