I am just curious as to how many people believe in God that do not go to church, or read the bible. I mean no offense to anyone as to their faith.

Me...I don't need to belong to a "church" to have a relationship with GOD.

I believe in God and I read the Bible, but not like every day to the point of obsessiveness. And the reason I don't go to church is because almost all the churches today use a generic Bible that has been watered down and changed so much from the original King James Bible that it isn't even the same thing anymore. So when I do go to a church, I will go to one that uses only the King James version of the Bible, which to me, is the true word of God.

I do. I believe that if you can find a church that is truly "Godly" then that is great. I don't knock organized religion but I prefer to worship in my own way and live a clean life. I don't push my views on anyone else although I seem to find that non-Christians want to push their views on me any chance they get. I also think that most religions are worshiping the same God, they just call him different names. It's kind of hard to believe that all the wonders of the universe were created by an accident but everyone has to come to their own conclusions.

I have read the bible completely about 20 years ago and there is some pretty funky stuff in the books of the old testament.

Its about a Relationship not religion. Religion will put a new suit on your back but a relationship with Him will put a new man in that suit. If religion is taken as what it classically ment (something sacred, set aside) then it shouldn't be a problem. But when a religion begins to become obsessed with a particular dogma or rules, rules, rules then I belive its a problem. I do go to church but acknowledge the fact that organized religion is at the heart of why many dont attend church.

I read the bible and books on other religions and I find it really interesting. Although I do not believe in a god, I do believe that I might be wrong.

If I do decide one day I'm wrong, i probably won't believe in one organized religion. All of them have good parts and bad parts, i'd probably believe what I think is true from each of them.

I do not go to Church anymore because I see all the lies attached to organized religion. Jesus denounced the scribes and pharisees when He was on earth because of their hypocracy. I do, however, have a relationship with Jesus and read the Bible quite extensively. Yea, you have to read the Bible to gain a relationship with Him in whom you believe. It's His instruction to us. His will is within those pages. History, Present and Future events, as well. You learn how wonderful and powerful and great He is. It's awesome and draws you closer and closer to Him. So, No to Church (organized religion), and Yes to the Bible (God's Truth and springboard to my relationship with Jesus).

I was raised Jewish, forced to go to Hebrew school 2x a week for 7 years, and hated every second of it. I disconnected from religion in my teens. I ended up going to a Catholic University where I was fortunate enough to be required to study world religions. As an adult I consider myself to be a "non-practicing" Jew. I may not practice organized religion but I am very spiritual and I believe in G-d.
