Well, I figure that if there were a Superman, even though he would initially figure out that the United States is a great country with a lot of good people, he would eventually realize that he should try to be helpful to people all over the world. This way he can't be just for U.S.

Okay people, pay attention... Movies are made to make lots of money (hopefully). Countries other than ours are now factored into their equations to Make Money. America, unfortunately, is not popular at the moment b/c of our leadership. So they are spinning Superman to be more for Humanity then America so Europeans and such will go see the movie. The guys who wrote the screenplay admitted all this in an interview, check it out.

I think we are a more global community now, and our media reflects that. It's not like Superman wouldn't save someone in another country. Superman is not just America's hero, he is everyone's hero.

We live in a politically correct world, anymore. I would say that they could still get away with the old original saying, if we weren't so unpopular. If there wasn't a war in Iraq, we could probably still get away with patriot sentiment in our movies and keep them popular internationally, but times are different.
