Spybot and Ad Aware are antispyware applications. In your case, you will need a standalone anti-trojan software program. Some one mentioned Ewido, it is an excellent choice. The latest version 4.0 adds a lot of new anti-spyware features as well. When you install Ewido, it will automatically start a 30 day trial. During the trial period, both real time and on demand scanning work. However, after the trial period, the real time protection is disable but everything elses works. Another anti-trojan software program is A-squared. A-squared also provides a commercial and a free version. The free version lacks the real time protection but, otherwise, it is functional. No cripple-ware. The download sites are:

1. Ewido http://www.ewido.net/
2. A-squared http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/

p.s. I've been using Ewido for close to 2 years and i have nothing but good things to say about it. Though it advertise itself as an anti-trojan program, it also scans for spyware and certain viruses. I've don't have any personal experience with A-squared but it has some great reviews.

Sorry dude, but you are most likely gonna have to pay. One option is WebRoot. They have a program called Spy-sweep.
Also check out Kim Kommando's web site. She may have some answers.

you didn't say what virus program you have. Don't even say none No one goes without anymore. Here is a link for instructions> If you had a case of dumb butt and don't have a virus program heard AVG has a free one, but this link will tell you what to do.

Try ewido.com It has a free trial period, my has expired and it's still working! It got rid of some trojans that McAffee couldn't.
