Poisonous? No. Venomous? Maybe.
It depends on how you define venom, and there is still a lot of debate in the herp community. These are rear-fanged snakes that can cause severe reactions to some people, although nowhere near fatal. Other people seem to have no reaction at all, although most people are probably somewhere inbetween. Keep in mind that in order for this snake to envenomate you, it would have to clamp down and "chew" on you with their rear fangs for a while.

I believe that the current opinion is that they are mildly venomous, but that they are not dangerous to humans. As was mentioned by a previous poster, an allergic reaction is possible in rare individuals, but even if you are a person who could react badly to it, these snakes rarely bite. As a matter of fact, they're well known for the lengths they'll go to to bluff their way out of a threatening situation.

Hog nose snakes are harmless, and are usually docile. I have known them to threaten to bite, but usually don't.

poisoness yes to a limit. Their saliva carries a nerve agent they inflict by chewing in with their rear fangs. Gardner snakes even do too. Venomous no. Because they have no venom glands just potent spit.

Yes they are mildly venomous to their prey. Their venom is harmless to humans unless you would happen to be allergic as some people are to bee stings or certain insect or spider bites.

PEOPLE , PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH , SOME OF YOU HAVE SOME REALLY STUPID WRONG ANSWERS .
Hognose snakes are not constrictors; rather, they are rear-fanged and possess mild venom that enables them to overcome toads preparatory to swallowing them. Their venom is not known to be toxic to humans, and in fact hognose snakes have mild dispositions and rarely, if ever, offer to bite their captors.

Yes, I believe they're rear-fanged, meaning their fangs are toward the back of their mouths.
