Exactly... nobody knows if theres life on other planets and its actually quite ignorant for people to believe that we are so superior that we are the only life on the universe.
Life requires certain things to occur in order if its going to happen. I can go on about this for hours... first things first... life in its simpliest for are anything that are self replicating. It requires a perfect solvent for biological reactions. Water is great since the properties of water surpass all others. this is why you here NASA is trying to search for traces of water on mars... because with water and the right conditions, anything could happen.
Currently, theres only a limited number of known planets besides the ones in our solar system... other planets outside our solar systems are hard to detect since they do not emit light of any source so they can no be seen. The other planets are discovered by the wobble effects of the stars (look it up). We do not know how many planets per star nor the types of planets they are (more than likely with this method, they have to be very massive like jupiter).

Ive answered this one to many times.
I dont think that intelegent life exists, but life does exist. I know that. Imagine this: A gas Giant. Nothing but clouds oif gas. Inside jupitur. How can life survive? They can float! Blimp-like creatures could fly and be hunted by gliding creatures called "sword tails", or perhaps an organism that has no mouth or nose for breathing, since it abosbs the ice on europa, and gets food by photosynthesis, on the moon of Europa. Or EVEN IN VENUS!!! There could be fat creacures that are resistant to the intence heat, and can last heavy pressure. They eat rocks and metal, and since the surface is boiling hot, they keep standing on one foot, alternating every once in a while. Great thinking, no?
Intelegent life doesn't exist as far as I know, but other forms of life, like the ones I listed, or single celled organisms, could.
My answer: Yes! Definatly. There are kinds of life that can adapt to nearly anything. Bacteria for instance. Its a huge, wide space, and Earth isnt the only planet with life. Definatly not. Earthlings adapted to life on this planet. If we were somewhere like Europa or Titan, we might not have to breate, or be resistant to very cold temperatures. Imagine that!
However, edited from other posts, the other planets are NOTHING like earth. They are gas giants, over 2x the size of Jupitur, and have temperatures at an average of 1300F.
However...life could exist in it perhaps...

There are about 300 billion stars in our own Milky Way Galaxy and there are thought to be 300 billion galaxies in the known universe. That gives us 40 trillion stars in the visible universe. First, that is such a immensely huge number that most people cannot comprehend it. It is estimated that 80% of the stars in the visible universe are similar to our sun and are burning in the stable main sequence. It is also a fact that most other stars have planets orbiting them similar to our own solar system. Therefore i would estimate that there could be billions and billions of other planets in the universe that either are supporting life or are capable of supporting life.

if your interested in life on other planets and the odds of us finding them look at something called Drakes equation which calculates the amount of life in the universe using things like the rate at which stars are formed and the likely hood of a bacteria formed at random from basic elements being able to communicate with earth. I believe the answer it gives is about 1000 civilizations within our own galaxy that are capable of radio communication. but with the speed of light and our ability to see other civilizations like our own, we have only found one planet with intelligent life on it in the universe (Earth for you slow learners.).

There is life on other planets. There are more stars in the sky than grains of sand on our planet. And each star has planets relvolving around it. It's statistically impossible for there NOT to be life on some other planet.
