Ok, I haven't seen the whole thing in a long time (or the show) and just watched part of it, but I have a question. I get the whole there can only be one and he was born in to it ect. But where was the cut off for imortalls being born in to it? Could more be born after the time the movie was supposed to take place? Did they (whom ever they is) pick Connor and say, "Ok, thats enough?" Or were there more after him? Thanks

We are meant to assume that Connor is the last one....period.

However.....in the second film, we are told that the immortals are actually from another planet....which is ridiculous, and is not generally accepted as Highlander canon.

The show throws an interesting wrench into the works, as it appears to take place after the first film judging by the cars, clothing, etc.

Then, of course, in the 4th film....Duncan (from the show) kills Connor. It doesn't really work because Connor is supposed to win the prize.

I like to assume that the show takes place before the first film, and that the only things that are canon are the first film and the series....and that Connor, ultimately, wins the prize. But that's just what I like to think.

That's a good question. The TV show seems to imply that more are being born all the time. That strikes me as somewhat unfair because Duncan, born 400 years ago, has had time to get lots of power and practice his swordplay. A new immortal hasn't had that kind of time and has to compete with those immortals who have been good enough to survive as long as they have.

It would have made more sense for there to be a single generation of immortals and then have them fight until there was only one.
