I agree immigration needs repair but l want to make a few things clear:

1) They say fixing the Mexico border will help our national security. I agree but let's not forget about the Canadian border!! the 911 hijackers all came through the Canadian border not the Mexican border.

2) Mexicans are not the only immigrants in our country. There are Irish, African, Chinese, etc. So lay off the Mexicans.

2) Others say migrated Mexicans are taking U.S. jobs. I partially agree. Migrated Mexicans are taking the low wage. low skill jobs which most Americans don't want to do. The jobs we should be concerned with are NOT the ones the immigrants are coming over here and taking but instead we should be worried about the ones our government is so happily shipping over seas to other countries.

The high tech jobs are being outsourced faster than ever before. The automobile industry is following suit and now they are starting to build new plants overseas and close American plants. Have you tried calling customer service for any large company lately? Dell, ATT DSL support? They are all call centers in India. Our so called government gives tax breaks to large companies who move there operations overseas!! So while we sit and bicker about the minimum wage jobs the immigrants are taking, the government is ripping the high paying jobs right from underneath our feet.

Legal immigration is right, but almost impossible for many. I have had personal experience with people who honestly just want to come to America for one purpose and then go home and make their country a better place and they were verbally abused by the American Embassy. Legal immigration is ideal yes, but I don't think we should be abusing people who risked their lives to get into this country because our government screwed them over! I've seen this happen on more than one occasion. And not just Mexicans either. British people, Chinese. My mother in-law had her green card ripped in half by a customs officer because they were having a bad day. Our country has a lot of issues concerning immigration. Before we go throwing out people I think we need to look at them as real people not just statistics.

Who do you think picks our fruit? Who do you think cleans our restrooms? Who do you think is out there taking all the jobs Americans are proud to take? It's the immigrants and I think they should be getting a lot more respect than we're giving them.

Duh!! we are all immigrants here....humans first appeared in africa and then migrated to every other continent in the world. Therefore only people in the cradle of civilization can say they are on thier original native land. Canada (my country) was only colonized by europeans a couple hundred years ago, as far as I am concerned I am still an immigrant because I am not native american, I have no problem with other people immigrating here because that was how canada was formed in the first place!!

Excellent question. America is the land of the free. However if people chose to come to America, they should learn English and become legal. I don't think its fair for people to come from other lands and dint have to pay taxes and Americans have to pay. I say it should be the other way around!!! (hahahahah). But once again America is the country of the free and if you want to come, come on join the fun!!!

If it weren't allowed, I would be staying single--my fiance is immigrating from Africa (no, we didn't meet on the net) so we can begin our wedded bliss. However--and I know from experience it's crazy complicated--it needs to be done LEGALLY.

I feel its a huge problem. People need to face it, it isn't racist to not allow mexicans!!! we have rules regarding the process in which one applies to join our country as a citizen. The people who cross the borders without the knowledge of our government are committing a punishable offense.

I'm fine with it as long as they don't abuse the system. If they're truly coming here to better themselves then let them go to it. I won't stand in their way. It proves they're hard working and not just lazy bums who want to go on welfare. But on the other hand, if they abuse the system, I say kick them out!And that's all I have to say about that.
