why is it bad to be racist? (dont give me BS answers. please think it out first)?

I do not deny that I am racist. I do not like most blacks or at least many of the ones I have met. I think the way they act and the things they do are just dumb and sub human for the most part. This does not make me bar or mean that I want them dead. I just don’t like them. I have had a few black friends and I know some that are great people but for the most part I don’t like them.

Now tell mw why I should not be racist?

Don’t say because its wrong sense that not a reason, back it up with proof please.

what you are is prejudiced rather than racist. if you hate all races then you're a racist. but since you seem to be focused mainly on blacks, you would be either prejudiced or a bigot. anyhoo, racism or bigotry in this day and age is archaic. Had you been alive in the south 40 years ago then this attitude would have been normal. nowadays it's all about tolerance/acceptance. you have some black friends, do they know your attitudes towards other blacks? your native american friends? racism denotes ignorance and stupidity because it's not fair to judge an entire race by the actions of some of those people in the race. you know that not all blacks are dumb or subhuman, it's just the majority of the ones you've come across appear that way. this attitude leads to a narrow minded view of culture which can lead to a narrow mindedness in other aspects as well. sexism, homophobia etc. you get one mindset going and it's impossible to stop and you continue thinking this way and eventually you'll pass it on to your children and so on and so on. What is it about your black/native american friends that you like? do they act more like you or less like their racial counterparts? this sort of negativity feeds on itself so evnetually down the road you WILL hate every single black/native american person because you'll pick out all the stupid or retarded things they do and use that to reinforce your belief in their inferiority. Not sure where you live either but having an attitude like this in NY or DC will most likely get you killed. Could just be the part of the world you live in. Assume you live near the hood or something like that, you'll come across the worst of the worst who have no care for the future and only want whats good for them today. You moved further out to more suburban areas and your views about them may change. You grow up thinking one way and you'll seek out evidence to reinforce it without getting the whole picture.

Racism is the belief that one specific race has different characteristics or abilities that makes them less than another. So what you are saying when you are racist is that because this man is black he cannot possible be as good a doctor as this white man. There is obviously no basis for this thought as the color of his skin has nothing to do with how intelligent he is. Many racists believe that black people are less intelligent because during slavery time and up until segregation was ended they were not given the same educational opportunities that the white people were so they appeared less intelligent. That is not the case by any means. Racist people will group one specific race all together and pass judgments on them.

The thing about racist people is that they are closed minded. There are plenty of white people out there that are just stupid--have you ever seen Jacka**? Yea they make a lot of money but so does Oprah Winfrey and Condoleezza Rice and they are looked up to for what they do by women and men all around the world... the white boys on Jacka**... they are just laughed at.

Everyone makes stereotypes and society tends to fall into them.... black boys want to be thuggs because that is what they are told they are so he ends up shooting up his neighborhood, white girls from a trailer park ends up a prostitute because that is what she is told she is so she ends up getting pregnant 5 times and adds more children to the system becuase she is too druged up to care. Racism and prejudices create stereotypes and stereotypes are heard by all and some of the people who are stereotyped aren't strong enough to rise above it so they are stuck there. It hurts everyone.

Yep you're a racist. You're also a little ignorant too. I'm sure you've met others of your own race you didn't like. How are they any different than other races? Why let your "negative" interactions with black people stick out. The poor souls who were your black friends once didn't seem to have any positive effect on your views. If every person in a race were judged based on how one person acted before them all single white men between the ages of 25-40 would be pigeon holed as serial killers. Not fair is it?

I am not wanting to sound preachy, cause i know I hate that. but this is just my opinion...I think it's bad because it is generally not a good idea to categorize an entire culture based on a few examples. Using your example of black people, there are hundreds of millions of black people on the planet. To say that you dislike the entire black population of the world because of a minute sample in your sphere of influence is slightly silly. I agree that there are bad seeds in any culture and, unfortunately, those are the ones who get the most attention. The vast majority of people on this planet would be hard pressed to remember the last time somebody did something nice for or to them, but, I bet they can remember the last time they were wronged in a millisecond. To me it's like saying that you don't eat any sandwiches because you had a bad ham and cheese when you were 4. Not all sandwiches will make you sick... so why give up on them. You are making yourself miss out on some mighty fine lunches...

it just wrong to hate anyone for the color of there skin just as it wrong for black to hate white for no reason. I feel sorry for u that u carry such hate. It take more energy to hate someone than to just leave it alone. If u dont like a black person cuz they are a jerk or rude then thats fine but to write the whole race of is lame. well my answer to your question would be, that if you are racist it closes you off to meeting, knowing, and enjoying a lot of great people. obviously every demographic of people has stereotypes and generalizations made about them, and the reason these are made is because they are consistent or true to SOME extent, BUT if you judge people solely on the color of their skin before getting to know them, you are not giving them as INDIVIDUALS a fair chance. i am confused that you say you have a few black friends and that you know some are good people...that is contradictory to saying you are RACIST and don't like any black people... so anyways, this is a hard question to ask, and you make it even more difficult by saying you don't like them, yet some are good people...i think maybe you have answered your own question.

To be honest you re really not a racist you re just stereotyping. if you were really racist you wouldn't have ever had any black friends. to be honest I don't like most black people Ive encountered but then again I don't like some people from other ethnicity's either. every person from ever race has some type of s.h.i.t. with them Ive met white women, Indian woman Hispanic woman, Italian women with big attitudes like black women. It doesn't matter what race you are you will be who you will be Ive been in white people homes and have seen filth i mean complete nastiness same for other people too.

You said that you have black and native American friends therefore you are not a racist. Racism means hate for your fellow man,despise the life of that existing person, and you want to take their life. Do you have God in ur life? If you do? Because, it is being predjudiced against someone just like you only with a different skin color. So what if they are black? It doesn't make them lower than you in anyway. I am not black, I am white, but I am not racist. It is so wrong to hate black people just because they are a different color. They have a personality, they are no more "evil" than us, no "better". They have two eyes, two ears, one nose, one mouth...just different colored skin. They are still people, still human beings. It disgusts me to hear other people talk racist towards certain people.
