My friend had a car accident and she said the Emergency Medical technician told her that when her airbag deployed, her car "called" 911 before anyone else did. I'd like to find out what it was and if it is available as an aftermarket part that could be installed in my car.

I don't think it was OnStar because I think she would have called it that. She was driving a Nissan Maxima that was about 1-1/2 years old (although I guess the other car the she hit could have made the "call"). Is there anything like this that is not OnStar?
