Same idea as with animals. For example: Mother animals tell who their children are by smell. Human infants also recognize their mothers by smell. Did you even notice that peoples homes also have a distinct odor as well? Even if they use candles or air freshener...it just always smells like "their house." And like you said, not necessarily foul...but just a smell.

Now-a-days people do not use their "senses" how we used to. People are letting those skills go to waste. We used to be primitive before.

I dont know. I have thought about this a lot before. When i was a kid, my cousin always seemed to smell really good, and I thought that it was teh laundry detergent that her mom used. Now that we are older, she still smells the same no matter what detergent she uses. She just has a cool personal smell. I wonder if she can smell her own smell.

Some body odor can be traced to diet. I went overboard for heavy garlic on food for several weeks; my body odor got so strong that it made me wince, and it wouldn't wash away in the shower.

sweat always contains some chemicals in it. Just another way the body gets rid of unwanted stuff.

Sweat begins to stink when it accumulates over time and starts to rot, or when the person is sick/has metabolism problem.

When we were babies we identified our mothers by their scent. Babies are primitive and know their mother by their scent so they identify others by their scent. As we grow older we recognize people by their voice or face but that instinct of identification by smell remains for some people.
