Mine was like snot and no blood. It was just a huge gob of mucus. At first I didn't know what it was. I was in my 9th month. When it came out, I was just in the potty to pee. I wiped and there it was. Just plain mucus, no red blood at all. I read and re-read my pregnancy guide book to figure out if it was indeed the mucus plug because there was no blood, so I wasn't sure that it was. Anyway, I gave birth the next day.

Goodluck with your pregnancy!

It looks like snot. I dont mean to be crude, but that's what it looks like. I lost mine bit by bit. At first it was yellow, then towards the end of my pregnancy it was tinged with blood.

Mine came out in pieces during my last few weeks of pregnancy. I usually noticed it after using the bathroom, when I wiped. It was very thick, whitish (no blood) and very...er, snotty and sticky. You really can't mistake a mucous plug. LOL

This is such a fabulous question.

My wife and I kept waiting to see her mucus plug. We NEVER did, but all of our kids came out fine.

Go ahead, call the doctor. If you are spotting your doctor needs to know.

I think the best thing to do is call your family Dr. and ask, or check you local yellow pages for one of those "Ask-a-Nurse" hotlines... or you can always check online too before calling in.
