if my Landlord went to make copies of receipts for our rent payments...and tells me that i owe him 45 cents for him making them... and he done gave me 3 of the receipts but wont give me a 4th one untill i pay the next rent which is in 7 days... do i have to pay him the 45 cents or tell him to go Screw his self?
btw the receipts are to give to another landlord to move there.

Well first off, I wouldn't go telling him to screw himself. I do think that the landlord is being unreasonable, but do you want to argue over the 45 cents?

Second, if payment for receipts is not outlined in your lease (and it's probably not), then the one tendering the payment (you) should be entitled to a receipt of payment, if it's requested, without further cost. It would be like if a store didn't give you a receipt of purchase.

Anyway, I suggest reading "Getting to Yes" if you want to learn how to tactfully negotiate situations such as this; that being said, I wouldn't argue over the 45 cents.

Tell your landlord to take a flying leap.

Pay next rent by check and tell him to stick the receipt up his aZZ, cause you will get the cancelled check back as a receipt.
DON"T ever pay rent in cash without receiving a receipt immediately.

dude, it's only 45 cents! just pay him. He saved you the trouble of having to go to kinkos and doing it yourself right?
