As you are clearly a red like myself please find David fairclough's goal against St Etienne in the 1977 European Cup Quarter Final and taste history beginning.He came on as a substitute at Anfield with 20 minutes to go Liverpool had lost the first leg 1-0,were 2-1 up at home therefore St Etienne were going through on away goals ,he picked up on a through ball 40 yards from goal ,kept running and unleashed a fearsome shot 3-1 Liverpool .Borrusia Moenchengladbach fell by the same score in the final 10 weeks later.The first of Five!!!

Marco Van Basten for Holland v USSR in the 88 European Championships final. A volley, from a long high ball, acute angle so all amazing technically so far, and against a keeper rated by many as the best of that time (Rinat Dasayev). And of course a major final so the stage was great. A fantastic goal by a great player, got me to my feet in applause.
