Why can't I leave out And Muhamed Is His Messenger? Why must we praise any prophet? Isn't enough to recognize that there is only one true god. I am without religion I was a Christian but I cannot put my faith in the bible or any other book including the Koran. The Islamic religion seems like the purest form of devotion to God. Is there any form that puts the Koran and Muhamed at the same level as other scriptures and prophets?

Actually,I am Muslim myself and what's wrong with praising Muhammed?
He IS our prophet.
And we do not say 'There Is No God But Allah And Muhamed Is His Messenger'.
I know what you're talking about.
We say 'Ashad an la illah ila allah wa an muhammed rasul allah'.
Ashad means witness or admit. No admit is not the word.
It's negative.Ashad has a very positive meaning in the arabic language.
It means that I completly believe that there is no other god but one(allah) and that muhammed is his messenger.
You say that you believe that there is not other god but allah and that you do believe that muhammed was sent by him.
So what's wrong with that?
The Koran is very important to us.
People know Koran as a simply book.Actually the Koran doesn't resemble the bible at all.Or the current one anyway.
The Koran is God talking.Literally.
It's been written down the EXACT same way it had been recieved from God.
It's a 'whole thing'.Doesn't include any people talking or something like that.
I cannot be read in any other way. It's not like a story, you could give back in your own words.
People memorize it and we pride ourselves on the fact that the Koran has never been changed(as in thank god,no mistake has been made while being handed over from generation to another. It's quite good it was the last religion, cause back at that time people has papers and could actually write everything down correctly.)
And there is abseloutly not another version of the Koran on this planet. It's one and only.
So yeah we're pretty proud.
We praise Muhammed because we want to and because God told us to.
He was a very great man.You should read his stories. He did many great things.
That's all I wanted to explain.
And I think it's pretty impressive that even though you don't have a religion, you still believe in God and put thought into faith and religion.
I hope you find what you're looking for.

I agree. I have studied Islam and sometimes people just say Lahihhlaailiallah. Which means There is no God but God. (Allah means God in Arabic) Why should we say Muhammad's name while we say God's? You see, one thing Islam is based upon is the mortality of Muhammad. The reason Muslims do not show pictures of Muhammad's face is that they do not want to make Muhammad more than a prophet and a human. The Quran is pure if you are not arrogant about it. You can read it and actually take it in. The thing is, people corrupt the meaning by taking it the wrong way. People also ignore the fact that people can not be robots and follow every single thing in the Quran. Muhammad may have given the message of the Quran, but he is not even comparable to God in the religion.

*This is purley opinionated as all religion is.

Patronne06- Muslims are allowed to read the Bible.

My friend, the Koran is supposed to be the last true religion from God. It was brought because Christians and Jews re-wrote their Bible/Torah. The Koran however was not touched/re-written/altered by anyone. That is why you should put your faith in the Koran. Islam respects and loves all of the prophets and respects all of the other religions.

By say Muhammad is his messenger, you are not praising him, you are merely clarifying that you believe what God revealed to him, and are therefore Muslim.

Because you know nothing about Allah without the Koran, except that He is the One God. But you need to know His *Will*. Muhamed is supposed to have been the medium through which Allah revealed mankind His Will in its definite form (for, though He had already revealed it to earlier prophets, including Jesus, His Word had been deformed (edited, censored, misinterpreted, etc.)). The Koran is supposed to be the ultimate revelation of God's Will. Worshipping Him is not enough: you need to *live in accordance with His Will*.

What makes one a Muslim is the complete believe in the two parts that are included in this statement.
A Muslim states this to ensure his belief in Allah (God), and then that he is follow the prophet Muhammad.

In fact, the full for of this statement is:
"I do believe that there is no god but Allah, alone, himself, without any partner for his greatest being, and I do believe that Muhammad is his worshiper and messenger."

That states that no one is a partner of Allah, no one is with him, no one is close to him. It clearly says that Muhammad is only a worshiper of Allah who's also his messenger of the last religion, Islam.

Koran is what Allah said, and that is the Muslim belief in it. And Muhammad is the messenger that took the mission of telling god's message to the world. Just, no more, no less.

Personally, I'm in agreement with you. These people are just as finatical as American Organized Religions & they have no real basis is being spiritually connected to their power source...that which creates ALL life & we humans are just a small part of a larger picture. When I hear the word Muslim, I think of the scratchy sheets that we had when I was a child. They look better on the people than on the bed!

Islam is a religion that serves Arabs best. it doesn't care about humans or God, as long as its Arabs that have the power, which they don't even know what to do with. any man that chooses to believe such thing is either very, stupid, or has something to gain from it. religions are all like that, god has nothing to do with them. i mean why would he pick another human over me, i am not of his creation too. why make someone else such as Muhammad or Jesus Superior over me. isn't that very unfair of him.
i personally think all religions ale full of *s h i t* and even a small child knows that. but some choose to follow it because of their own interest in it. which is such and people like these should be put in jail for their varosios and selfish thoughts.

You seem very confused. It's natural to question different beliefs that your parents or friends might have, but to run from Christianity to become a Muslim is a bit silly. Study and learn something for yourself, don't just run from religion to religion trying to find something you like, the truth isn't easy to follow or easy to come by.
