sometimes paretns have a hard time letting go of their children. Other times they have a valid reason for not liking someone. You need to talk with her (in an adult manner) and find out what it is about your boyfriend that she doesn't like. If it's superfical (like his hair is too long, he has piercings, or his music is too loud) let her know that shes is entitled to her opinoin, but you don't think that has any bering on who he is as a person. If she has a valid reason (like his best friend who he is with all the time just got busted for drugs, or he has gang-affiliated tatoos, or he is irresponisble) give her oppinions some serrious though. More often than not we are blinded by love and do not see the problems that are right in front of us.

Find out why she doesn't like him. If it's a good reason then you should listen to her. But if it's not then you have to tell your mom that you're going to still go out with him. She's your mom, and she's never going to like your boyfriends, because she still sees you as her baby girl. She wants to protect you all the time, but you have to tell her that you learn from the mistakes you make, and that you need to learn to make your own decisions now so that you're ready for when she won't be there to guide you.

There must be a reason for her not to like him. And why are you asking the question if you already have an answer? Dont do anything for the sake of others, but at least take their views into consideration.

The bigger question is...Is he worth fighting with your mom over?
I went through the same issue with my mom. She didn't want me to date my now husband, but I stood my ground. Cause he's worth fighting for. My mom eventually came around and accepted him, he's adored now. I'm glad I didn't give in.
Could be just that your mom accept a guy taking care of her little girl. Just a thought...

I dont think that you should leave your boy-friend just cuz your mom doesnt like him cuz thats just stupid! Unless your b-f is an a$$ to you then you should leave him.

You should never leave your boyfriend because your mom doesn't like him. If you let have control over your relationships then you wouldn't be with anyone.
