"You must be the change you wish to see in the world." I love that quote because it is true. You cannot sit around and wait for other people to do it. If you want it done- if you want to help out and make a difference- then do. Start now. Be a part of life. Be the person that makes that change that you wish to see. However small we are, we can still make a difference. I also really like "Live as if your were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." You never know what day is going to be your last, so make the most of your life while it lasts. Don't hold back. If today were your last day, what would you do? Sit around and watch TV? No! You would get up, help people, and make a difference. And that brings me to another quote."Where there is love there is life." How reassuring and utterly true that is. And finally, "Live a good and honorable life. Then when you get older and look back, you will be able to enjoy it a second time." Now that one is self-explanatory! We really must do that. With that in mind, it will be a constant reminder to never regret what we do. To live life to it's fullest, and do our best. There is nothing more we can do. We must simply be happy with that. Sorry, I know that is more than one, and I could really go on and on, I just love quotes- but I know I am just wasting your time now, so I will stop. Sorry again!

What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset. ~Crowfoot, 1890~
...This was written simply and beautifully by a man who lived close to the earth and drew from that experience. Many people turn back to nature when searching for the meaning of life. I often look to nature myself to find peace and solice.

It's meaning is very much like your analogy for the Michaelangelo quote.
