I live on Montauk Point, which is on Long Island, in New York. NYC is only a 2 hour drive away, or even less time on the Long Island Railroad. This time of year, the city is hot, crowded and packed with sweaty tourists, so NYC is out. The Bahamas is also really hot this time of year, but it is the off season there, so it is relatively empty. If I had to chose between the two places, I would go to the Bahamas. Montauk is the place for me, in the summer, it is cooler than the NYC and the Bahamas. There is always a fantastic breeze off the ocean, and the Beach is so beautiful. There is no better place for me to be in the whole world, in the summer, than where I live, all year long.

I'd go to the Bahamas because I've never been to an island that wasn't right off the coast of a continent.

As nice as the Bahamas would be, I'd pick NY. My aunt lives there. I haven't seen her for a few years and would jump at the chance to see her and all of these places that she writes about.

Bahamas. because it is warm and i love the beaches and the beautiful landscapes. The weather is great all the time. I can feel the sand on my feet right now.

new york is SOOOOO expensive and it has a stifling heat that doesn't stop. bahamas hot all the time but has great foods to try
