In this 12 years, I tried many acne product from TV, AD and somewhere else, but it still doesn't help any. I went to see the doctor before, she gave me a set of lotion to put on, that doesn't work either. I went to see another doctor, he told me that I won't grow any after I deliver my first baby. is it true?

Acne does have a lot ot do with hormones, but to guarantee that you won't have any after you first child is B.S. If you have used proactive in the past and it didn't work, I'm not surprised. It contains a lot of benzoyl peroxide which in small amounts is good, but not all over and all the time. I do work for a skin care co. that has an acne line that may help so if you want to e-mail me for more info you can. I'm not here to promote and sell product. So, as for you skin first clean you pillow cases and cell phone as often as possible. You have to exfoliate 2-3 x's a week because you are a genetically acneic person which means basically there is a malfunction happening in your skin. You either produce to much dead skin cells, you produce more and stickier oil or both. Make sure the exfoliate is chemical. So hydroxy acid and enzyme based. Cleanse you skin with a pH balance salicylic acid cleanser 2x's morning and night. Also look for a moisturizer that contains no oil and salicylic. Salicylic is a beta hydroxy so it will clean the follicle from the inside out. Check ALL cosmetic ingredients for mineral oil, artificial fragrance, lanolin, formaldehyde, isopropyl myristate & SD alcohol. Just to name a few. Try not to touch your face to often and DON'T over cleanse. That is the #1 thing us acne people do we think the skin is really dirty, when it actually isn't, it's just how we were born. GOOD LUCK!

If the over the counter stuff and the lotion that the doctor gave you are not working, I suggest you go back to the doctor that gave you the "lotion" and tell him you want to try something else. There are drugs he can prescribe you one of which is birth control that can help reduce your breakouts.

I am not sure what you meant by you wont "grow" anymore after your first child is born?? Grow anymore acne?? I dont think that is true. Many women get breakout after delivering children.

I WOULD say Poractive but 1. It's expensive and 2. Ive never really tried it. My mom ahs and it DID help her out a lot but we don't have a ton of money to spend so I would have to say do one of these thigs:
1. Buy something that's cheap and has a good name
2. Buy AcneFree*. It's just like Proactive only way cheaper. Proactive may work a LITTLE better but AnceFree* is just about as good.

I use the Clear Skin Regimen at http://www.acne.org. It's a non-profit (so it's free), the guy who created used to suffer from pimples himself. The system works wonders on my face, and its helped countless other people. The best part is that you don't have to order or buy any expensive treatments, everything you need for the Regimen can be found at your local drugstore. Find out more at the website.

In general, for clear skin it helps if you: don't touch/pick at your skin, drink lots of water, wash your hair frequently, change your pillowcases, exercise, wear little make-up (or if needed, hypo-allergenic makeup), and minimize stress. Another tip is to look up online consumer reviews of acne products before you buy them, using sites like epinions.com or drugstore.com. A great website I use to get cosmetic reviews is makeupalley.com (A mostly women's site). Hope this helps!

Depending on the severity of the infection a dermabrasion may need to be done. Consult a dermatologist for treatment and medications. Otherwise try frequent washings and apply a astringent to remove excess body oils and bacteria, and a change of diet that eliminates fatty/greasy fried foods. If all else fails eventually (most times) your body chemistry will change as you get older and it may correct itself by the time you reach 30 (that's a Loooooong time to wait). On the plus side some people like to "pop" other peoples' zits..find a lover that will pick to his/her hearts content and enjoy the attention.

That's untrue about having a child. I have struggled with acne forever and I have a two year old daughter and still get it. The best way to control it is to SIMPLY use the hottest water you can handle on a rag and scrub your face. It really works and it makes your skin really smooth. Everything else will irritate it and waste your money.

I've had problems with acne for a long time and recently I purchased Proactive Solution. I thought it was just a scam that Jessica Simpson was advertising, but it actually really helps. Just make sure you're consistant. And it always help to keep your face and hands clean! ;)

Mary Kay Cosmetics has something called acne treatment gel. It really works great for me. Also, cleaning your face on a daily basis with their skin care should make a difference. If it is really bad you may need to see a dermatologist first.
