I'm curious as to what some rental rates are in different areas. How much do you pay a month, what's the length of the lease (if any), what is included in your apartment/house (i.e. the number of bedrooms, bath, etc.) and where is your home located?

In San Diego a simple 3 bedroom 2 bath house goes for $1400 a month, easily. A normal lease would be for 1 year.

See all the HIGH California prices? That is why I sold my 1200 sq ft 3 bd 2 bath on .10 acre home in Orangevale Ca. and moved east. I now have a 1700 plus sq ft home on 1.5 acres in upstate New York, (a little over 100 miles south of Montreal) that I bought for cash with the proceeds from the sale of my Ca. home. Rent for a 3/2 around here is around $500

$1500 per month. I got a 12 month lease in Lake Forest (just next to Irvine, CA). It's a 1000sq ft, 2 br apt, with washer and dryer. I've got a nice backyard, and it's located in an overall great area.
