Some of the book and movie are based on fact, but most of it is fiction. Written to make money, interesting and intriguing, but not fact by any stretch of the imagination

Seeing that my mom's Opus Dei boyfriend does not participate in self-mortification, nor does he actively try and go around to kill people... hmn, I'd say no.
And the fact that the whole document that the book is based on turns out to be a total forgery and planted--I'd say it's a good bet this is just a nifty little fiction book.

It's a pretty entertaining conspiracy theory. You should check out Dan Brown's other books. I'm reading Digital Fortress right now. It's pretty good.

It clearly states at the beginning of the book that it is a work of fiction. That's why it is called a novel.

No it is not. I wouldn't ever see that movie Because it mocks Jesus, And I hate When people mock Jesus OK. You could not even pay me a one thousand dollars just go see the movie. don't mean to be rude sorry.

That is the mystery everyone would like to fine out. I hear so much controversy of this question. My gut feel is no, it was just a good story.

I think it's a good movie with some valid points, but for the most part no....but i really did enjoy the movie

It is a fascinating piece of fiction. Whether you believe it to be real or not is a matter of opinion.
