I am amazed that none of you got this! Mr. Rogers changed his jacket and shoes when he came in from outside because there are inside clothes and shoes and outside clothes and shoes. He was raised meticulously clean and well bred. When you go outside, you have jackets, coats and sweaters that you wear. You also have shoes that you wear outside, but you would never wear them inside because they carrry stuff from the outside onto your floors and you want to keep your floors clean! So you change your shoes! If you remember, he never went into the living area to change his shoes and sweater, but did it right there in the entrance way!

Because it was his special coke jacket that made the buzz better. The shoes just tied the outfit together.

Because he loved children. And he wanted children to learn. And so, at the begining of each show, he would change his clothes to show children that changeing out of your dirty clothes is good.

Good question, although I changed my clothes after school and now after work. Might have been a pattern for him.

It was his tradition. He had hundreds of sweaters and he changed it every show. I think it was his trademark.

I think it was something for him to do to kill time while he sang that weird song he would sing. I hated that show.
