it's supposed to be about a fairy tale character that comes to this world, and how the apartment building's handyman is trying to help her get back to the world of fairy tales. i don't know if it's going to be good, m. night shymalalan-i know i mis-spelled is usually good at doing freaky/scary movies-although the village could have ended better-and this movie isn't supposed to be scary, it's supposed to be a fantasy movie. I guess i'm just confused by the ads, they can't make up their mind if they want you to believe it's scary or if they want you to believe it's not.
i'll just wait until i hear more about it from people who've seen it.

Since I am obviously the ONLY person who LOVED The Village.. I have total faith in this movie. Shyamalan has only disappointed me once and that was with 'Unbreakable' - you want to complain about one of his movies? Complain about that one!
On a side note: I think people were disappointed with The Village because they wanted to be scared but you're missing the point... while he likes to add suspense and keep you on the edge of your seat, almost all of his movies about the relationships between all the characters.. how they react to each other and play off each other. The Village showcased Bryce Dallas Howard as a real talent and the relationship with Joaquin Phoenix that drove her, was REAL emotion. Anyways...
I'm sure The Lady in the Lake will be good... have a little faith in Paul Giamatti, he's hasn't been picking crappy movies to be a part of ;)

M. Night Shyamalan has done many good movies. I don't think Lady in the Water will be a disappointment to any M. Night fans. I just expect the usual surprises and twists in the story.

I'm kinda torn between whether or not it will be good or if it will be bad. I'm a HUGE Shyamalan fan, but to be honest, "The Village" was a disappointment. It was very predictable and the twists, which he is usually known for, failed in that film unlike in "The Sixth Sense" and "Signs". However, I will say that it was beautifully shot and well-acted.
So I don't know. "Lady in the Water" has Bryce Dallas Howard (whom he used in "The Village") and I enjoy seeing her perform, but the storyline seems very iffy. We'll see when it comes out. Either way, it's Shyamalan. I'll still see it. :)

I doubt it will be good. The only good movie Shayamalan has made is The Sixth Sense. But I can't excatlly support my opinion as the movie has not been released yet.

Well I hope Shamylan (however you spell it lol) can pull this one off. I like more of his horror movies, although this is considered one in a way, but doesnt seem like one. More of a thriller. I wont probably watch it in the theatres, wait until it comes out

It looks like a piece of garbage. Shaymalan lost my respect when he came out with Signs and then he did the Village. He is running out of crap to do. Its sad really.

looks kind of dumb. it has the same producer of the sixth sense, signs, and the village. might be as bad as the village.
