It's kind of hard to find a BAD place to take pictures of the bridge. My favorite spot is, coming from the SF side, take the LAST exit before you cross the bridge. 2nd choice, go up to Fort Point & look back toward the bridge. I like both of these early in the day, where you might get either a great sun or fog shot.

Drive to the top of the Marin headlands. You will have an awesome view of the Bridge with the City behind it.

If you're coming from SF, go north on the GG bridge and pull off at the second viewing spot, just past the bridge. When you pull back on to 1 S, there will be a spot on the right to pull off before you get back onto the bridge. Just follow it to the top (you will see lots of cyclists climbing the steep hill). There are several places to pull over. All have an awesome view.

Good Luck!

I don't know, but you better be careful. With security high around structures like the Golden Gate Bridge, you could get arrested on suspicion of being a terrorist. It's happened to others taking pictures of potential targets.
