I'd say it's very close between Track and Basketball. From '73 ~ '03, there was a show called "The Superstars" where jocks from different sports would compete in a variety of events for some mythical trashsport championship. I think most of 'em just wanted the free vacation as these were ususally held in Hawaii and I think a lot of 'em drank their way through the competition.

The winners were:

1973 - Bob Seagren, Pole Vault
1974 - Kyle Rote, Jr., Soccer
1975 - O.J. Simpson, Football
1976 - Kyle Rote, Jr., Soccer
1977 - Kyle Rote, Jr., Soccer
1978 - Wayne Grimditch, Water Skiing
1979 - Greg Pruitt, Football
1980 - Charles White, Football
1981 - Renaldo Nehimiah, Hurdles
1982 - Renaldo Nehimiah, Hurdles
1983 - Renaldo Nehimiah, Hurdles
1984 - Tom Petranoff, Javelin
1985 - Mark Gastineau, Football
1986 - Renaldo Nehimiah, Football
1987 - Herschel Walker, Football
1988 - Herschel Walker, Football
1989 - Willie Gault, Football
1990 - Willie Gault, Football
1991 - Kelly Gruber, Baseball
1992 - Mike Powell, Long Jump
1993 - Dave Johnson, Decathlon
1994 - Dave Johnson, Decathlon
1998 - Jason Sehron, Football
1999 - Jason Sehorn, Football
2000 - Jason Sehorn, Football
2001 - Hermann Maier, Alpine Skiing
2002 - Bode Miller, Alpine Skiing
2003 - Jeremy Bloom, Freestyle Skiing

Track guys won 8 times
Footballers won 12 times (but 4 of those guys were also college or pro tracks guys (O.J. Simpson, Charles White, Herschel Walker, Willie Gault)
Soccer & Skiing won 3 each

Strangely enough, no basketball players ever won except in the women'c competition.

Australian Rules Football.

I'm not a big fan, but one thing I will admit is that it does have the best all-round athletes.

They run on average more than any other sportsman per match (except a marathon runner). They must have good ball/kicking skills, they must be able to tackle and jump, and they play rough with no padding.

There are no easy positions, it's all running, hitting, passing, kicking, tackling, bumping and jumping.

I'd put lacrosse second, only because the goalie doesn't have to run. And the Attack/Defence are limited to their half of the field, which takes down the average stanima (though the Attack and Defence players are still really fit, just not as fit as the Middies).

ice hockey. imagine, the balance, strength, endurance, speed and wits while under pressure. and the reflexes needed. it's amazing. it's also the hardest sport I've ever played.

other sports do need these attributes, but not at the speeds that hockey has. football, soccer.. endurance is a huge part, but luckily, the whistle blows more often and has longer times to set up the play. and Lacrosse is like hockey without the ice.. so I'd put it in a close second place.

Though I see about 1 and a half games a year,I would go with hockey. Many of the players are huge, but the kind of shape they need to be in is incredible. You rarely hear about any fat hockey players.

Water polo!!!!!!!!
and Swimming, Seriously, have you tried them? In water polo you have to keep above the water for a long time, swimming back and forth, passing the ball back and forth, shooting. And the whole time you have to tread water.!!!!!!!!
