At this point, the question is not what moves the sun or the earth, but what if anything is stopping it.
They were set in motion long ago. (nobody knows precisely how and why but most of the astronomy theories have to do with motion and energies imparted in a big bang or the like)
Once in motion, an object will stay in motion until something stops it. So, nothing is moving the earth now, it is just still moving. It will continue rotating and orbiting and winging along through space until something interferes.

The solar system is considered heliocentric. The sun is placed at the center and all massive bodies move around the sun along a path which may or may not change. My understanding is that the sun, as a massive body, does not move. Therefore the sun does not go up, nor down, nor two inches to the left or right. Solely, the sun moves--the gases and heavy metal flows. Great geisers spew hot illuminated gas hundreds and thousands of miles above the surface. Although the sun is hot, some locations of the sun are cooler, comparatively. The sun is a gigantic chemistry experiment which generates a lot of heat.

Earth move around sun. Sun stays in center of solar system and earth and all other planets move around sun. The gravity of the sun is greater than that of the earth because the sun has more mass than the earth. Therefore, the earth is attracted to the suns gravity. But because the earth has gravity also, the earth doesn't plunge into the sun but rather stays in an eliptical orbit.

They both move in lots of different ways. They move relative to each other, the earth moves on its axis and so does the sun. The sun moves around the center of the milky way galaxy and carries the earth along with it.

the sun has a MUCH greater gravitational pull, since it takes up 98% of the solar system. there is no way some puny planet like earth would cause the sun to orbit around it, so the earth has to move.

God put the sun there, The earth revolves around the sun, when we go into an eternal life, there won't be any need for a sun anymore, whereas God will be our eternal light.

The gravitational attractions between large masses, like the sun, planets, moons, etc. cause them to move towards each other. Orbits result from these objects being pulled by more than one other object.
