Melissa's answer is correct. However it takes some children longer. Protect your baby's head and remember that your baby loses 25% of it's body heat through the head. So keep your baby's head covered when you go outside. This protects from light and sun and helps your baby to maintain a normal temperature.

The soft spot in the back usually closes within the first month. The one in the front can take up to a year, but for most babies is closed earlier than that.

Its usually completely closed at 18 months. Its not as tender as you think though, so you don't have to be overly careful
