I used to work on the railways and had to check the tickets of the people before they boarded their train. They had to pass through the booth I was working in. As you can imaging lots of people may well have had tickets that wern't legit or were out of date ot that they had modified in some way, so not everyone liked to show me their ticket to closely!
But the worst people of all were not the young kids, or those scruffily dressed, it was the smartly dressed people, the men wearing a shirt and tie and suit, they were by FAR the worst. They always thought that they were above me and used to talk down to me, and one man said that I was a nothing and this was the best job I could get.
So when I used to find a "posh" person with an invalid ticket, or a ticked that had been altered in some way, I cant tell you the pleasure that gave me to book them!
In fact 70% of all prosecutions were given to people in the legal profession! These people got a criminal record for fare evasion often for less than £1 (or $2)!

I am an EMT. Here is the story of my "meanest" customer ...
After my ambulance crew thwarted a suicide attempt on a person about 2 years ago,
the person started calling us every name in the book, punched my partner in the chest, kicked me on the shins, and tried to spit on us!
Our crew had the police ride with us to the hospital to help keep the patient from hurting anyone!
That was an interesting call!

When I was in college I worked at Foley's part-time. I was working in Young Men's one day, and some dad chewed me up one side and down another. I don't even remember what for - I think it was because I couldn't find the right size for his son. Anyways, it was so harsh that I just stood there and cried. The other customers patted me on the back and told me that the mean dad was an a**hole.

There was woman who called me imcompetant because I couldnt' help here order something. I was new and didn't want to mess it up so I made her wait till my coworker was done with another customer. She also got mad because while she was waiting for the other employee , I help some of the other people in line that needed stuff that I had learned how to do or that just needed to pick up an order.

I am an engineer. Working with Intel was my worst experience. It solidified my belief that "no good deed goes unpunished".
