no,they are not.The media takes care that Israel remains the "victim " no matter for what reasons or who they are attacking the Palestinians.I'm not saying that it's OK that some militants have kidnapped that soldier,but i really think that Israel is over reacting

No way, Israel will never loose the western sympathy. For then the West has to accommodate Israel back in Europe where they came from in 1948..!
Also, Israel is the chosen people of God, and Palestine is the promised land although Palestine was one of three countries offered to the Jews in 1948 to settle in by the West.
Israel can do whatever she wants. What the fuss, the victims are Muslims, are not they? Lets call them Terrorists to match our mood . Heck..!

Ok, Israel did NOT invade Palestine. They attacked the Gaza Strip, which is home to many Palestinians, and is also a hotbed for Islamic militants which have been firing rockets at Israeli properties outside of the Strip, and is also where the kidnapped Israeli soldier, 19-year old Cpl. Gilad Shalit, is believed to be held.
I think Israel has sympathy on their side in this situation because Hamas-linked militants not only kidnapped Cpl. Shalit, but murdered 2 other Israeli soldiers on the same raid, and the Palestinian Authority has done nothing but bicker and fight among themselves while all of this has been going on. Not saying that Israel isn't at fault for anything, because their actions could be considered a bit extreme. But what does it tell you about the situation when an Arab nation is actually trying to mediate a deal to secure the release of Cpl. Shalit by the militants, the release of Hamas ministers by Israel, and for Israel to pull out their forces from Gaza? To me at least, it says a lot, and I think the situation is going to be resolved without much more violence.

I dearly hope so. They have gotten away with so much terror for so many years. Do you know how this latest intifada started?
Israeli soldiers were getting sick and tired of terrorizing Palestinians, so Sharon created an incident by marching into Al Aqsa Mosque backed up by the Israeli military. This insult infuriated the Palestinians and Israel had the excuse to go at it again.

hello?? The israelies gave back a large chunk of land they'd occupied for years to allow the Palestinians to live there and what did they do? Launch missiles against Israel! Doesn't take much brains to realise why the Israelies are so pissed now does it?

No, a terrorist government invaded Israel first, and kidnapped Israeli citizens. Inexcusable. I hope Israel finally puts an end to this conflict by wiping out their enemy. Israel has been too easy on these worthless curr terrorists.

No, they only went into Palestine in self defence. They should have driven the palestinians out of the area years ago, but they felt sorry for them because even their own people didn't want them, and considered them scum.

Israel doesnt deserve sympathy-
they are an illegal terror state - why STOLE all their land from the palastinians and kill many many inocent people. they also threaten world peace with WMD and terroisize innocent people. not to mention they support internation jewery and their attempts to take ovcer the world
Israel is not suppose to even exist and shouldnt.
