The first two Supermans were George Reeves from the tv show, and Christopher Reeve from the 1970s-1980s Superman movies.

I know those Supermans were 100% American made, however, this new one doesn't seem so.

Does anyone remember Superman's famous and coined phrase?
"Fighting for Truth, Justice, and The American Way."

Both Reeve and Reeves lived by that when potraying the super-hero, this new Superman Brandon Routh for one is allegeidly gay (something I wouldn't doubt myself) but more importantly took on the role with the new phrase.

Hollywood decided to change the old Superman phrase to "Fighting for Truth and Justice." No American Way.

My fellow Americans it's time we stood up to those eletist Hollywood assholes! It's time that we get our point across to them, as Americans we love our way of life and if we had a real Superman, he wouldn't stand for this! The liberals in America have made everything into a politcally correct and now Anti-American all for money.

For one here, yeah he was an Alien but where did he live? Oh that's right the USA. The Justice League of America is chaged because of liberals and the leftist agenda to change America to a secular society...like Europe. And that is a very bad thing

Superman is as American as you can get. It is unfortunate that the movie was filmed in Australia, but you can still not get anymore American than Superman.

Don't take it so seriously. They are only thinking about profits. If you put American in the saying, how many other countries are they isolating themselves from. The U.S. is not the only country watching these movies. They are just being more inclusive, in order to make more money. And if you are a homophobe that sounds like you problem, quit putting it on others. I am going to see it because I love the story of Superman. Come on, He's a comic book character, not a political figure. Thank God for that!

They took out the phrase "American way" so the movie would sell better overseas.

If you read the comics, the "Justice League of America" is now just the "Justice League".

Personally, if Superman wants to save the world instead of just the USA, that's fine with me.

First of all its just a movie and if you want a good movie to watch try Brokeback Mountain. I personally liked Batman better. Also the supposedly gay man who plays Superman now is from Iowa , a RED STATE so he can''t possibly be gay ! I didn't know Truth and Justice had degrees of difference .

Get over yourself. You whine about "American way" being taken out but probably could care less if "truth and justice" were taken out.
Then you go on to slander the actor playing him. Superman encompasses a world view as a protector of all mankind, something you wouldn't understand.

The Australian Goverment rolls out the purple carpet for Hollywood manufacturers. Tax credit, a brilliant number of extensive open areas, Unions that buckle all the way down to a producer's calls for. and then there's a privateness concern - - you could conceal away on the some distance edge of the international till most of the kinks have been hashed out.

That's not anti-American. Being gay isn't anti-American either. Maybe they changed it just because they plan on Superman being more of a protector of the whole planet.

Superman was not an American, he was an alien. He wasn't even human, how could he be an American? Show me one example of another non-human American citizen, then we'll talk.

I think you really mean Truth and Justice only the American way. These are pretty big words coming from a republican who's motto is money and greed .
