Are you OK with people coming into this country, REFUSING to learn our language, and expecting the country to conform to them? My family came here from Italy, and they had to learn English. However, spanish eople come here, and they don't want to learn English.
Are you for or against this?

The first post (from a Mexican) reads:
im
[should be I'm]
mexican
[should be Mexican]
and LOOK
[should be and, look,]
The list goes on and on, but in his response, EVERY word is incorrect. Thanks, pal, you have proven my point.

I am sick of people who come here refusing to learn the english language. My parents wanted to be americans so they went through hardship just to learn the language. Back then, there's no language other than english. Now everything has spanish on them so people who came here from a spanish country doesnt need to learn it and that is a trajedy. Please, if you want to live in a certain country, learn their language. If I live in France, I would work my a** off to learn french.

The reason that "spanish eople" (first of all, you criticized someone who answered for not capitalizing/having proper grammar and look at you, and second of all, another term like Hispanic or Latino would be more accurate because the people to whom you are referring come from Latin America, not Spain itself) don't learn English is because we've made it so convenient for them here in America to not HAVE to learn English, so the problem today can be partially seen as our fault as well. There are Spanish signs everywhere, Spanish communities, libraries filled with Spanish books, and a lot of Spanish channels so that people who only can speak Spanish can live just fine in America. However, this prevents them from getting more higher wage jobs and thus many children of Spanish-only families are learning English to get ahead. I think it's a rather bigoted idea to force people in America to all learn English, but over time through education, the people that you cite should realize that it's important to learn the prevalent language here if they want to move ahead in life past lower-end jobs.
Plus, it's bad to generalize. For example, your first answer (in English! oh my!) was by someone who can be considered one of the spanish eople that you mentioned, and additionally, when immigrants first came to the United States, many took a long time to adjust and learn the language. Many old European families who came from Italy, etc. have accustomed themselves to American culture and the English language through several generations of acculturation.

If you can't speak English, then leave our country. Or take lessons to learn the language. I'm not going to take the time to learn Spanish so that I can communicate with these fools who come here and refuse to educate themselves. I'm not anti-Mexican, just anti-jackasses.

I am with you. I hate it. Then to top it all off they think that by speaking Spanish they are better than you because they know a different language.

They should learn especially if they want to eat, but it wouldn't hurt to learn a little spanish, yo know something to welcome them to your community, but if they just flat out refuse, then don't bother them, apparently they want to get to know you or anyone else for that matter.
