i am not sure why he quit but i think but must have been some pressure from upper management. in my opinion i think he did a wonderful job leading argentina and they were obviously the better team in the semifinal but did not win due to penalty kicks. i think the coach should have stuck around and gave it another try

I do not know... I am just really sad cause I am an argie and I think we played well... it was a shame that we got that equalizer on the 82th minute and also that Abondanzieri (the goalkeeper) left the game in the ONLY GAME we had to go to penalties so far... it is also a shame cause I live in Germany, in a little town where I am the only argentinean and I had to eat all the crap from ze Germans these last few days saying how great they were and how easily they would beat us... they did not really beat us, during the game I mean, and then during the penalties, we had a goalie who was playing for the first time with such huge responsibility!!! I am very sad... we could have made it through, we were dominating on most of the game and to that brasilian who posted that he´s happy we´re out he knows it is by little and it is probably because he was scared that WE their biggest rivals would kick their behindies in the final...
I am really sad, my country was really feeling it this year and a change to keep playing would have been so awesome...
about Peckerman, I do not know if he quit or not, I have not heard anything till now, I do think his strategy was not as good as it should have been, getting Riquelme and Crespo out and taking for granted we´d win before the game was over... but quitting seems a bit too much to me...

well it shows he is taking responsability for this loss, i also blame the argentinian goalie for making such a huge scandal over a small injury. the coach made some bad choices in changes because he never thought argentina would be tied by germany, he changed so theres more defense and less attack and that killed the team in the end. but i gotta say to this user who posted how bad they are actually argentina had one of the best teams in the world cup, they are better then germany, they also had a penalty kick which the referee never called. brazil is not that great like they used to be past years, ronaldo can barely move because he isnt fit to play, i go for italy right now since argentina was eliminated.but still best of luck to all remaining teams.

He must feel responsible for the lose. But very few coaches, if any, will be coaching the same team 4 years from now. t

I dont know why he didnt let messi play!
and he did a lot of mistakes, when they scored the first goal,
he subtituted crespo and reqiulme very fast but there was a long time left!
I think he has to answer many questions!

He quit? I did not know that, but I would say he is a sore loser. Like the saying goes, "You win some You lose some" Plus there's always the next world cup.

he quit??? i didn't know that. i watched the game though. i think that's horrible that he quit, he gave up on his team. that's a shame. argentina's players must feel even more horrible b/c their coach quit on them.
