I'm not a big fan of W, but the fact of the matter is that America has traditionally stood by Israel, not just the current president. We support Israel because it is the ONLY true democracy in the Middle Eastern region.

Now, I'll agree with you, many of W's policies are anti-Muslim, mostly because of the racial profiling that's taken place since the September 11th attacks. But also look at it this way: Most Muslims haven't exactly been helping themselves for a while now. The Palestinians have been offered the chance to form a true Palestinian state, but the violence that has been raging in Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip has not been stopped and won't be stopped until the Palestinians, not Israel and the IDF, not Hamas, not the terror groups that oppose the recognition of Israel, decide to put an end to the violence and embrace statehood.

Don't get me wrong, it's not just up to the Palestinians. Israel needs to be flexible and open as well. But the ball is in the hands of the Palestinian people.

America has been an ally to Israel since Israel became its own country in 1948. That's why President Bush supports Israel... because that's what allies do. (Note I said Israel, not Jews. While the two may be inseparable, the USA is in the business of aligning itself with countries rather than specific religions. Last I checked, this country still has a clause in the Constitution that forbids endorsing or discriminating against any religion.)

You might want to go back a little further than 2001 for the history of America and foreign policy in the Middle East.

Below is a link to a site that separates myth from fact with regard to Israel and America.

Peace to you.

Maybe these will clarify it for you:

Kidnapping of Embassy Official, March 16, 1984: The Islamic Jihad kidnapped and later murdered Political Officer William Buckley in Beirut, Lebanon. Other U.S. citizens not connected to the U.S. government were seized over a succeeding two-year period.

TWA Hijacking, June 14, 1985: A Trans-World Airlines flight was hijacked en route to Rome from Athens by two Lebanese Hizballah terrorists and forced to fly to Beirut. The eight crew members and 145 passengers were held for seventeen days, during which one American hostage, a U.S. Navy sailor, was murdered. After being flown twice to Algiers, the aircraft was returned to Beirut after Israel released 435 Lebanese and Palestinian prisoners.

Achille Lauro Hijacking, October 7, 1985: Four Palestinian Liberation Front terrorists seized the Italian cruise liner in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, taking more than 700 hostages. One U.S. passenger was murdered before the Egyptian government offered the terrorists safe haven in return for the hostages’ freedom.

Aircraft Bombing in Greece, March 30, 1986: A Palestinian splinter group detonated a bomb as TWA Flight 840 approached Athens airport, killing four U.S. citizens.
Bus Attack, April 24, 1987: Sixteen U.S. servicemen riding in a Greek Air Force bus near Athens were injured in an apparent bombing attack, carried out by the revolutionary organization known as November 17.

Servicemen’s Bar Attack, December 26, 1987: Catalan separatists bombed a Barcelona bar frequented by U.S. servicemen, resulting in the death of one U.S. citizen.

And that is only a partial list and it only goes as far as 1987. I got tired of copying and pasting. But, if you care to educated yourself, here's the link where you can read about all of the attacks on US citizens by muslims.

There is a correlation between the muslims in the mideast and terrorism. Prime example is the hamas. As long as they control Palestine (which i dont believe should be a real country), then the US will continue with policy in favor of Israel which is a real country. And no I am not jewish. I am able to see that a friendship with Israel has always been necessary.

Bush isn't alone. The United States has been a staunch supporter of Israel (which I assume is what you mean) for decades.
