There are lots of great games out there, just remember to double check the systems requirements. There is nothing worse than spending $50 on a game only to learn your computer can't run it.

In the way of RPGs, there is Guild Wars, Elf-Quest, various knock-offs of D&D including City of Heroes, and the Elderscrolls games. I've seen Elf-Quest and Guild Wars in action (though I have never played them) and they are beautifully rendered games (graphically) and very involving. That is there one down side; they are VERY involving. If you are not carefull you will spend an entire day playing them and not realize time has passed. Still, they have excellent stories, lots of quests and interesting characters.

If you prefer Shooters, both Halo games are available for computers (in fact, they were originally designed as computer games) and have a bit more content than the console versions I am used too.

Simulations more your thing? Get the Sims or The Sims 2. While both are excellent games, The Sims 2 offers a wider range of customization, actions your Sims can do and things they can do but BE CAREFUL! The Sims is pushing the very edge of what the best graphics cards can do and if you don't have the right card everything will be slow and your computer will crash.

Like the building aspects of Sims but don't like the people? Older building games like Zeus, Pharoh, Children of the Nile, and Caesar offer you a chance to take part in history whil creating the best city you can. Want something more modern. The latest versions of Age of Empires and Civilizations not only let you control your cities at their very bas but also how they affect the world.

All in all, it is up to you, but always remember to check the requirments. Amazon.com has reviews for each game (created by customers so they are a little bias) and the big gaming websites like IGN.com have reviews by professional gamers, game designers and casual players. Have fun and good luck!

The Sims is quite exciting. It takes up somewhat a brilliant number of your laptop memory yet its extremely reliable. additionally video games like Sonic and great Mario are reliable. however the Sims is my commonly used :D
