I would just re-partition the disk and start over all the way.

If you want to install a different Operating System, just boot with the CD and format the drive. That will take care of removing Windows 98. You can't just delete an Operating System if that is what your PC is using.

The best way to do this is to format the hard drive and start from scratch with your new operating system. But you'll have to back-up whatever files you can transfer between the two. If you want to do this and you've already backed up your files, go to the DOS prompt and type:
"c:" and press [ENTER]
"format" press [ENTER]
It will then take you to the formating program that will explain everything you must do.

1- when the windows is coming up after the pc boot press f8 or ctrl
2- that entering u into the menu normal or safe moe ...
3- choose command prompt only
4- on dos mode type
format c:/q/s
that format c:
and s
to make your hdd is bootable

Just you can boot with bootable cd-rom support and format the partition where you ahve installed 98.Eg (c:). Use format from the command prompt and select the drive. path (Eg:- A:\ format c: press enter. Thats it computer will confirm are you sure press y. :)

Go into msdos and type in format C: and it will ask you if your sure and type Y and after that just follow instructions
