People don't want other people to know who they are. They cover up their faults or what they think won't be accepted because of fear of rejection. They want to be accepted no matter what the cause. Poor self esteem but also society in itself demands we covering up our faults or what Society deems is unacceptable. Most who act like someone they're not are doing so out of fear they won't be accepted for who they really are because they don't have confidence in themself
