Due to problems between me and my current roommate, we have decided to break our current lease, which means im not going to have a place to live. My girlfriends parents (we've been together almost a year) offered me thier basement for $600/month which includes everything - food, utlities, etc. If i get a place on my own, i will be paying at least double that, which would severly hurt my pockets and giving me less than $200 a month for personal money to live on, which i would need for food, gas, etc. Does anyone have any advice about this? I know we havent been together for that long and its kinda rushing things, but then again you've gotta do what u gotta do to survive u know? Im pretty much stuck between a rock and a hard place - live on my own and be barely just getting by or move in with them. I work full time and go to school 3 nights a week so its not like im going to be there and around her 24x7...

her parents will allow you to rent the basement. you will have your own space, so it will not be the exact same as when you "move in " with a girlfriend. Besides, you need to ask yourself the question...how do you feel about this girl? do you see potential there? if so, discuss with her the situation, that the living arrangement would really help you out financially, but you are worried that it might be moving too fast in your relationship. most importantly, if you do move in ...respect her, respect her parents, and don't be late paying the bills....it will look good for you all around. good luck...i say do it!
