Best part? A Gordie Howe Hat Trick: a fight, a goal, and an assist. However, I think the only player that can pull that off now is Bertuzzi.

Depends on the game.
My favorite part of my games is the moment right when the puck drops. That rush, knowing it could go anywhere and anything could happen and I'm going to go all out to make sure whatever it is, it winds up in their zone somewhere in or around the goal.
I puckbunny friends' games, some of which are high level and hard core, and my favorite part of those is when the guys who know me glance over after a fight or a hit or even a goal to see if I'm watching, and grin. Or when my best friend who centers is just about to bend down for the faceoff and glances over and winks.
My favorite part of pro games is kind of game dependent. If my team is doing well, then scoring's my favorite part. If not, usually any ruckus the enforcer kicks up, especially if it's Scott Parker. If the game *really* sucks my favorite part is the beer. Usually I have a favorite player on any given team, even the non-home teams. So I really enjoy watching them, thinking about their play, what works about it, stuff like that. And the beer.
Really, the hockey's my favorite part. Of any game.

Obviously watching the game period.
My worst is being stuck next to a bozo who either can't hold his liquor or the best insult they can come up with is: (Player's name) sucks. This is tied with having ten seconds of every bad classic rock song from the '70s blasted at you during play stoppages. If you're going to play snippets of rock--how about something from this century like the Music, Kasabian, the Hives, Kaiser Chiefs, Caesars, etc., not this MOR, cock rock BS.

I'm season ticket holder the Washington Capitals. So I say it depends on who they are playing. Then what level of abuse they get from us fans.
But in DC the Verizon Center is downtown and there is a lot of good places to eat. The Capitals are the most fan friendly team in the NHL. The owner "Uncle" Ted Leonsis personally answers all of his e-mail you send him. Plus if you any issue pertaining to anything they will call you back and resolve it.

To see the intensity of the players. The arena is filled with electricity when your team is winning. Ever been to a Stanley Cup playoff game? The atmosphere is so intense that you can't help being excited.

The physicality and speed of the game. Hockey is my favorite sport to watch in person. I'm happy for your 'Canes and enjoyed watching the Cup this year. Although I wasn't pulling for Edmonton I thought it was cool when they had the opera singer start O Canada and he stopped and all you heard was the entire crowd singing. That was pretty cool.

To me it's the all around ability of the players. They are pound for pouind the best athletes in the world. They aren't even thinking about their skating, where most of us can't move like that with our feet on dry ground. How they do all of those things while skating like that is beyond me.

Watching my son play and score goals at every game! And...the fights are great to watch - he plays on an adult league so he can take care of himself...
