It's not just about what we see. It's how we think. People are more likely to criticize themselves for things that don't bother them on anyone else. This is because we have to deal with any negative responses, firsthand. It's easy to be the friend who says "Don't worry, I think you look fine." and being the one asking "How do I look."
However, oddly, we are also likely to dismiss features that some people may dislike. This is because we have to live in our bodies every second. We become comfortable and more partial to what we see. But most people do have physical insecurities. that just makes me wonder how stupid i am when i dwell on my hips or something. Do most other people even care?

Unfortunately people (usually girls and woman) feel they need to meet society's form of perfection. What is troubling, is that perfection is unattainable.
Even those models and celebrities in the magazines don't look, in real life, like they look in magazines. Some graphic artist in the publication room is removing blemishes, shaving off excess pounds, tightening wrinkles, adding color or taking color away. It is truly an artists work of art ... not a picture of a person. Trust me, I know, I use to do it for a living!
However, society is stupid enough to believe what we see. So many people try to conform to that image. Since it is an impossible image to attain, they always feel like they failed or are a failure and only see what they feel needs to be changed.
I wish society would once again regain the attitudes of: "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." OR "Beauty is only skin deep ... it's what's inside that counts."
Alas, I do not see that happening. Until it does, we will continue on the quest of perfection and unyeilding youth.
People need to understand what they see in the mirror is only a reflection of a shell and not their true selves. We need to use that reflection to help us gain positive thoughts ... not negative ones. Instead of harping on everything that is wrong ... we should use it to move us forward with our goals.
Don't think "God I need to loose 30 pounds ... how will I do it." Instead think "Today I am going to start on my way to getting healthy ... and I love this person in the mirror, because they will be with me 100%."
So in short I guess my answer to your question is "no". I don't think anybody sees the true me in the mirror. Because it isn't the true me ... only a reflection of somebody that looks like me. The true me (and you too) are on the inside!!!

Absoultely not. Everyones vision is 20/20 to a point, but their deception of addressing the picture is different from each human being. A person that looks at you will get a different picture than what you see and that is a fact!!

The mirror gives a reverse reflection. You don't see yourself in the mirror the same way others see you. For example: you see your hair parted on the left in the mirror, while others see your hair parted on the right.
As for body dysmorphic disorder, those folks need professional help. Despite what they see in the mirror, it's never GOOD ENOUGH.

I think I am average, but everyone thinks that I am "pretty" and some people describe me as gorgeous. I think I have horrible skin and my eyes are too slanted. I have a pig nose too. But with all of that being said I would change a thing except for the fact that I have a flat butt and droopy breast : )

I think it is a somewhat accurate likeness of yourself, but you really can't see the whole picture. No profile (with all the mirrors you want you can't see the whole picture), no panning (scanning the whole picture, not staring at one aspect), it's just not 3-D. I think it's close, but a variation, of your physical self.

Everyone sees something different. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think I'm ugly but family, friends, and others say I'm pretty/beautiful but I don't think so at all

Good question but I assume they are like the rest of us. I look in the mirror & find all of my imperfections (some fat, a mark on my face, etc). However, friends & bf think that I am nuts.

No, What we see in the mirror can look horrible to us but from someone Else's point of view, they might think you look just fine. They way we think we look all has to do with what we see and what we want to see
