Depends on your music taste. If you like rap and hip-hop mixed into your crazy reality shows vaugely related to music or celebrities, then MTV is for you. If you like less rap/hip-hip and more punk and milder stuff, VH1 is the place.
Personally, I'm a VH1 in-the-wee-hours-of-the-morning type of person. You know, when they play nothing but music videos for the insomniacs? It's the best.

VH1. i say that because it has more insiders about musicstars and all that other stuff.. MTV isnt realy a good network. VH1 has everything that you wold want musicvideos, and insiders about stars.

They both have too many reality shows to be a music channel so I prefer BET. But if I had to choose it would definitely be MTV.
