It formed of dead bodies of plankton million years ago, found in certain rock formation called reservoir. Produced by drilling an oil well and gathered into surface facilities. Separated from its impurities (sediments and water), it transported mostly by pipeline to the refineries. The refineries extract the crude components at each weights to make various type of fuel such as gasoline, kerosene, diesel oil and so on. Crude oil composed by carbons and hydrogen that so called hydrocarbon. Hydrocarbons constitute a very large group including alkanes, alkenes, and alykynes.
It's non-renewable energy resources.

Crude Oil is the raw stuff that is pumped out of the ground. The only thing that is done to it is to burn off the unusable natural gases. This is what they are talking about when they give the price of oil.
After the oil is delivered to a refinery then they start processing it. The crude oil is heated slowly and it gives off a variety of gases. This is done in a cracking tower. If you see a cracking tower in operation there is a flame at the top that burns off the waste gas. As the gases evaporate they do so at different temperatures and are siphoned off by different pipes into different parts of the refinery to under go more refining and processing. That’s why an oil refinery has a maze of pipes. Each pipe is passing a different oil product to a different facility for additional work.
