go to your control panel and regional and Languages, go into languages select details setting chang everything to united kingdom change the keyboard setting And remove the usa keyboard option
this won't appear to work as you are using it and you will get a message saying this will be removed the next time you restart windows

if the language setting solves ur problem then ok...other wise u can change it in the registry...or better still there is a free tool in the internet which can easily map any key to function as any other key....sorry don't remember the name of the utility but u might try searching for keyboard tweak or something like that

Is the Key in the wrong place on the keyboard? If yes, try answer 1.

If it is only in applications, try answer 2.

I would try answer 2 first.

goto your control panel and select Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options and change the region to united kingdom this should put it right

i take when you press shift + ' you get " instead and when you press shift + 2 you get the @ this means your keyboard is set usa format

The individual keys are suppose to pop out...I wouldn't be too hard on it - don't try to break it (lol)!!!
