Has anyone ever been burned by Salicylic Acid? I recently applied some to my face and now I have burn marks. Please Help~ I've been reading on this and was wondering about how long it would take to clear up. I am really worried and I was crying my head off all this morning. Thanks so much if you can give me some answers, I really appreciate the help.

Yeah- it was over-the-counter medication. It's not like I brewed up some acid to burn my face on purpose, okay. Thanks for making me feel better about it, jeez. Really though, thanks to those of you who actually gave me a helpful answer. I appreciate it.

I really hate it when people are rude. I personally don't think it's nice to call me stupid when its a reaction some people DO get to this stuff. I bet some of you who answered don't even know what salicyclic acid is. I was unfornuately one of those with the sensitive skin to react this way. So once again, thanks to those of you with helpful answers.

Salicylic acid is used in acne meds and cleansers, but at diluted strenghts. You should see a doctor or dermatologist. In the meantime apply 100% aloe vera gel.

Don't put anything more on your face that could damage it, Ice might help out a little bit. It may take a while to clear up, but you shouldn't worry, especially if its slight burn marks.

NOTE THAT ACID IS ACIDIC!!!!!
Get to the dermatologist soonest possible
taking along the product with you.
Be more careful

Oh no! I think you should call your doc to play it safe, but it may calm down. I would apply cool compresses or damp cloths on it to soothe it.

WHAT THE **** ARE YOU DOING PUTTING SALICYIC ACID ON YOUR FACE. AND NO IT WONT GO AWAY IT WILL RPOBABLY LEAVE A REALLY UGLY SCAR. STUPID WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING.
