I doubt that Al Gore is begging for attention, at least not for himself. He has already stated that he knows he lost, he's dealt with it and is moving on. Great people don't stop being great once they get their name in the news -- they still have the rest of their lives to live, and possibly more things to accomplish. Look at Jimmy Carter. Okay, not the greatest President our country has ever had, but -- my personal opinion -- nowhere near the worst. Yet he's gone on to mediate international peace treaties, write books on foreign policy and international affairs, won the Nobel Peace prize, and in his late 70's is STILL climbing atop framing to build houses for Habitat for Humanity.

Al Gore has moved on from his Presidential aspirations to address an issue that affects us all and that isn't getting the true attention it requires. Global warming is very real, regardless of what the pundits and naysayers say, but because the solutions to the problem require individual accountability and some changes to the way we live, there is too much resistance and denial for real change to begin. If more people were like Al Gore and really championed the causes they believed in, rather than letting "somebody else" solve whatever problems are out there, the world might very well be a better place. But then what would we complain about, right?

Nobody does if they have a lick of common sense and care at all what kind of world our children grow up to live in. A relatively small number of really scary, ignorant, and brainwashed people may share your beliefs. Since Al Gore won more votes than George Bush in the 2000 election, and in fact also won in Florida (Supreme Court Coup), I suspect the number of Americans that think the way you do is pretty small indeed. And, since we are talking about the whole planet when it comes to global warming, outside the U.S., Al Gore is one of our nation's most respected politicians.

Nope - I say keep him around. Even though I voted against him.

The system works best when we have 2 strong candidates running for office. And he's running, make no mistake about it. He's taking a long-term view on global warming, and I'm glad of it. Whether you believe it or not, the phenomenon is real. How it will play out is still anyone's guess, of course. But it's good to know that at least someone is working on it.

Now, if he'd work on growing a personality....

Hunny, politicians are politicians. I don't care which party you're coming from, they're all screwy.

However, global warming is an issue that does need to be seriously address. We shouldn't overreact or be underwhelmed. However, something needs to be done.

I think instead of just listening to the party you generally support and parroting what they say, we oughta research the legitimacy of what the other party says [but don't look at what the politicians or lobbysts say]....We gotta look into this stuff ourselves, and I mean, read books. Don't be lazy.

And either way, we gotta find alternative fuels.

No,since he's so concerned about the impact of global warming! What Al Gore is doing right now is promoting his documentary about that very thing. He's trying to alert us to this critical situation that the President is not doing a doggone thing about! It's time we all have to listen to him for a change. If the world wants to listen to him, so be it!

Though you may be right but I actually like the global warming debate. Not because I'm afraid of global warming but because it pushes to expand technology. Let's face it we should not STILL be relying on oil soo heavily. Hopefully this will trigger the U.S to start making more alternatives than just oil. We've had the technology for centuries but have never used it cause oil is where the money is.. I'd like to see that change...

Al Gore is the Man! Republicans worst nightmare in 2008:

Gore for President
H. Clinton for Vice President

It is clear that Republicans do not care about anyone but themselves and unborn babies. How about you idiots start devoting energy to to babies that were born but no one cares about.

The Democratic Party; we are just better.!!!!!!!!!!!!1

People who have nothing to offer like to attack those who have done something for the country. Gore had his chance and needs to fade into history like other VP's that just took the money and made no contribution to the country.

No one. Frankly, it's about time someone started speaking up about stuff like this. Half of the government still believes that global warming is a myth.
