At the very least, we know who will be first against the wall when the revolution comes!!!!

i would love to say that Americans have the power to kick the bastards out every election, and that apathy, ignorance or nationalism puts them back again every time.

But that power, the power to vote, the one force that gave the American people actual power over their government, has been compromised. The last Presidential election showed this. The amount of voting inconsistencies, flat-out corruption, vote fixing, tampering etc have essentially guaranteed that whoever runs the VOTING process will own the country. The makers of vote machines happen to be loyal to the Republicans this time around. The people who were doing the tampering were doing so mostly in favor of the Republicans this time around. Make no mistake-had the Democrats thought of doing it, they would. They are just as crooked as the republicans.

So one has to think that the only way to change things now is to wait for these old white men to die. Only problem is, they are replaced by their offspring, who are also old white men.

Things look bleak.

Well here is the deal......you could not really start a revolution because they would find out about it and stop it anyway. I know I believe some conspiracy theories and people are rolling their eyes. I mean the gov't wants to control even what we are eating....and their are many other things that they control. Where do you think that it is going to stop?

I am a law abiding citizen and do what I am to do as a citizen even down to recycling. I just thought that I should add that in case people have the wrong idea about me. :p :)

Never. The citizenry are sheep and will continue to feed the system. Over 80% of the voting public votes for the party they support REGARDLESS of the candidate and their position on issues. That means less than 20% of the people who vote even have a remote chance of changing the system.

It's probably because not enough people can get together to make a decision, then you always get some jerk who wants to dictate, be the "leader" and we're back to where we started. AND I might sound a bit paranoid here but I don't think many people want to attract the notice of the FBI, CIA or Homeland Security in these times...anyway..GOD BLESS AMERICA!

That's a very good question. I think a revolt is what it would take to affect any kind of change there. However, I would be surprised if it actually happened. I think a lot of americans are just complacent, don't think that they can make a difference. How many times have people said "but I'm only one person, how can I make a difference?" And that's the biggest problem. What is it going to take to make the american people angry enough to do something about their situation?!

When they are willing to put the good of the nation above the good of their city or state.

No one wants to lose a senior commitee member that keeps a military base in their city, or who pushes through a bill so a new government facility will be built in their state.

Unfortunately, most Americans are too apathetic to do anything about it. Look at the voter turnout in 2004....nice, eh? We're such big democracy proponents, but too lazy to exercise our own right to vote.

To answer the question, though - it'll happen when no one can afford to get to work because they can't buy gas, and they can't buy food, etc. Hit people in the wallet, and they'll finally take notice...

Our crooked police department would protect their crooked asses. The only way for this to happen is when our economy, and our country's infrastructure falls apart. There will be kayos, and very little the law can do.

Theres a reason why people are voted into washington. The problem isnt the system for gaining members, the problem is the american people using their voice once their candidate is there.

that will not happen, a government falls when most citizens are suffering. We are not there yet. A new government doesn't garantee to be good, humans are greedy and love power. Don't think a new government will be any good either.
